MHRA Litter Pick Day - Sunday 23rd June 2013

On Sunday 23rd June, following on from suggestions by several members, the Association held a community "Litter Pick" day, together with games for the children, and the opportunity for members and passersby to meet and talk to committee members. Based on Mill Hill's village green, Simmonds Mead, work parties went off in various directions armed with gloves, rubbish bags and litter pickers provided by the council. Around 30 sacks full of rubbish were collected leaving Mill Hill temporarily at least a bit cleaner.

Chair, Richard Logue commented,
"We were delighted with the turnout today and as can be seen from our photos we bagged a huge amount of litter from some of Mill Hill's streets. Many thanks to our members who kindly gave up their Sunday afternoon to come out and help make Mill Hill's streets a little bit tidier."

The event was covered by the local press and their article is here.
